Adventures in Online Dating, P III: About a Girl

Hey biatches. I am scatterbrained of late, and therefore this posting will be pretty scatterbrained too. You can't say I didn't warn you.

First off, there are several reasons I am not posting as often as I told myself I would; homework, exams, laziness... but the biggest reason? A girl. She's one of the ones I mentioned the other day about online... actually, I will update that right now. Here's the people from the internet I talk to often right now (all on OkCupid):

1. Cute genderqueer girl who is funny and smart. After a few days, though, conversation is sputtering out. We have a lot in common, but not enough to continue a conversation, I guess.

2. Cute femme-butch girl. Again, a lot in common, but conversation is fizzling. Plus she lives really far away- too far away. I don't usually have a "too far" but she is too far to have a romantic relationship with.

3. The One I Actually Think I Have Something With. For the sake of brevity and anonymity, let's call her Jo.If we actually get to have a thing, I will stop being superstitious and start referring to her name. She's the one that I didn't consider as attractive as the others... but holy shit, was I wrong. First off, her personality would make up for her resembling the Grinch- she is sweet, funny, caring, and wonderful to talk to. Second off, she used an unattractive photo for her profile- and it is a lie. She is really, really cute. Perfect hair, perfect eyes, perfect lips, smooth skin, a smile to die for and a rack that rivals mine- and not many racks can do that. We started talking by email about a week or two ago and switched to chat. Then facebook, then msn, then skype and texting. (We talk a lot.) We went on a date ("Loving Annabelle", watched by netflix and discussed by im... by the way, it is really sad. Watch the alternate ending because it will make you happy).

The more I talk to Jo, the more I want to be with her. She's pretty, smart, funny, understands me and generally fantastic. We compliment each other well- I study literature all the time, and so feed her own hobby-like interest in it, she studies science and introduces me to all the cool things nobody shows English majors. Honestly, they should, I would stop bitching about taking science courses if they were more interesting than multiple levels of chemistry. We have slightly di:fferent tastes in music, but can kid each other about them easily- I made fun of her for knowing the lyrics of a certain country hit, and she called me on knowing every Spice Girl song by heart.

Whether or not we actually get to be a couple is yet to be determined... and god, it is going to be a long wait. Right now we're friends. Not-that-platonic of friends. Friends who want to kiss and hold hands and be a couple.

I feel so bad for my friends. Trying to have a conversation right now is a one-way street to me mentioning Jo again.
